Home Health Care:

Often due to age, illness or surgery many residents require a certain level of support to remain in their home.  A number of home health care services are available at Jordan Towers.  The HRA currently contracts with Goodhue County Public Health, and ACCRA, and Mayo-Red Wing HomeCare and Hospice to provide these services.  Qualified personnel provide nursing and homemaker services, allowing residents to maintain independence in their home.

Independent Living Services Program (ILSP)

For many years the HRA has offered the ILS Program in Jordan Towers. This program offers  home health care, homemaker services and Customized Living Services (CLS) at a reduced cost to our tenants.

With over 200 tenants eligible for the program and a limited budget we make an effort to serve those most in need.  Services are offered to residents under a sliding fee scale.  A monthly adjusted income cap and two different income rates – one for individuals and another one for couples have been implemented.  An individual with an adjusted monthly income over $1200 will not be subsidized.    Individuals or couples must have assets of less $60,000.  A couple with an adjusted monthly income over $1400 will not be subsidized. There will be a maximum of $100.00 per household per month.

Our Social Services Coordinator can assist you in accessing this program.  She can also do referrals to home health agencies as well as the CLS program.  Please stop by her office in the lobby of Jordan Towers I or call her at 651-388-7614.

Customized Living Services (CLS):

A Community Services Development Grant awarded by the Department of Human Services allowed the Red Wing Housing and Redevelopment Authority to add CLS as an option in the fall of 2003. ACCRA Home Health provides the services.

The basic assisted living package includes the following with additional “a la carte”:

  • On-site nursing, direct support professional staff and homemaker services 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • 24 hour emergency response accessed through a pendant worn by the resident    (12 hr. ACCRA staff/12 hr. family).
  • 2 safety checks per day.
  • Continental breakfast prepared and delivered to your home; escort to  SEMCAC dining site for midday meal; evening meal prepared and delivered to your home.
  • Homemaking services 1-2 times per month.

Many residents will qualify to receive these services free or at a reduced cost through the Elderly Waiver. The Independent Living Services program also offers a minimal subsidy to private pay tenants.
